Roles that require PVG Membership
Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £31,505 per annum / £17.31 per hour)
The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.
Job purpose/about the role
The purpose of the role is to support and progress the Community Justice agenda in Aberdeen City by co-ordinating Community Justice arrangements, including leading on the development and review of Community Justice Outcomes for improvement as embedded in the Local Outcomes Improvement Plan, and supporting Community Justice partners to deliver against these Outcomes.
An opportunity has arisen for a 12 month secondment to the post of Community Justice Officer for Aberdeen City. The purpose of the role is to support and progress the Community Justice agenda of preventing reoffending by tackling root causes in Aberdeen by co-ordinating Community Justice arrangements, including leading on the development and review of Community Justice Outcomes for improvement, and supporting Community Justice partners to deliver against these Outcomes. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-starter to drive forwards this agenda in collaboration with colleagues from partner agencies across the Justice landscape. The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
The postholder is able to demonstrate:

- Undertaking analysis, research and/ or consultation
- Managing projects or initiatives
