Job Description

The purpose of the role is to develop an efficient, effective and responsive service for the housing of displaced people across the city. The role will focus on identifying and meeting housing needs within the terms of the UK and Scottish Government resettlement and humanitarian programmes and within the context of a local and national housing emergency and rising demand.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in resettling displaced people.
  • Ability to understand and apply housing and homeless regulations.
  • Ability to deal with displaced people in stressful and demanding circumstances.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with a variety of client groups over the phone and face to face.
  • Written and oral communication skills necessary to respond to correspondence.
  • Good numeric skills
  • Proven organizational
  • Proven attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
  • An ability to work co-operatively and
  • A focus on delivering excellent customer

Responsibilities

  • To apply specialist knowledge and experience of housing requirements as per the Funding Instructions for each resettlement/humanitarian scheme.
  • To ensure the housing outcomes in the Delivery Programme are actioned, monitored and reviewed timeously.
  • To extract performance reports to support data and performance management.
  • To develop, review and consider revisions of policies and procedures, ensuring these are cascaded and implemented as necessary. 
  •  To test expediting the homeless application process with a view to removing the need for an interim move to temporary accommodation.
  • To liaise closely with Housing colleagues to test the process and review what works with a view to consider future  implementation.
