Location:  Units 3 - 4, Whitemyres Avenue, Telecare Team
Duration:  Fixed Term - 2 years from start date.  Full Time

This Technician post is based in the Telecare Service which provides technology solutions to meet the needs of our vulnerable or elderly clients.  You will assess users for equipment within their home environment.  Communication with users and their families is an important component of this role and our service, along with holding awareness sessions on the equipment with various staff groups e.g. Care Management, NHS staff and Learning Disability.

About the role:
To contribute to the provision of person centred care and support for service users 
throughout the city of Aberdeen by providing a high standard of technical support to 
the Community Equipment Service. This will include contributing to the assessment 
and review of service user needs, installation, servicing, maintenance, repair and 
removal of a wide range of equipment. 

Requirements

The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:

PDA in Telehealthcare or willingness to works towards this

Full Current UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle

The post holder is expected to demonstrate:

The ability to communicate effectively and work in partnership with service users, staff, carers, families and internal/external professionals to achieve improved outcomes for service users

An ability to work as part of a team and provide guidance and support to other 
members of staff 

The ability to work proactively and with limited direct supervision, while at the same time recognising when matters need to be referred to a more senior manager

The ability to move and handle objects in a safe manner

The ability to organise and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines

The ability to use IT equipment and computer packages including stock control systems, databases and hand held technology
