Job Purpose:

  • Support continuous improvement and information governance across the range of services provided by BAC by providing a comprehensive information and data analysis service in order to identify trends, excellent practice and recommend areas where improvements could be achieved that may be of value to the organisation/service/function.
  • Lead on Key Performance Indicator (KPI) development and delivery including ensuring monthly, quarterly and annual submission deadlines are met.
  • Provide a comprehensive support and training service to users of BAC’s information reporting systems and processes.
  • Contribute to the development of BAC’s information and digital strategy.

 

 

Requirements

The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:

  • A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience of providing an information and data analysis service, within a similar sector or environment, e.g., public sector, adult care sector, systems with mobile device field-based users, case management systems, customer relationship management systems, etc.
  • Have some experience with Salesforce or a similar complex database system.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence reporting and dashboard tools (e.g. Salesforce, Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Excel).
  • Experience with Microsoft 365.
  • Understanding of data governance requirements.
  • Ability to travel to sites within Aberdeen City.
  • PVG registration prior to being appointed.

Responsibilities

The post holder needs to be able to demonstrate an understanding or experience of:

  • Provide a comprehensive information and data analysis service including data collection, inspection, cleansing, transforming and modelling.
  • Build Business Intelligence reports and dashboards (e.g. Salesforce, Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Excel) using complex formulas and queries to provide high quality information and data sets.
  • Coordinate and liaise with service management over reporting and KPI requirements and submission deadlines.
  • Lead on ensuring submission deadlines are met.
  • Undertake research into areas identified by managers or through team self-evaluation and present findings to management teams.
  • Provide specialist insight, information and data analysis related advice and guidance to managers, colleagues, operational and support staff, including attendance at meetings and representing the Digital Team on working groups.
  • Lead on training users of BAC’s information reporting systems and processes.
  • Contribute to data and information management, governance, data models and procedures, e.g., Performance Indicators, FOI, GDPR, British Standards, best practice guidelines, national government requirements for data sharing, data security, data retention and disposal, etc.
  • Maintain and develop BAC’s Information Asset Inventory.
  • Work with the organisation/managers to rectify and/or improve the accuracy of underlying data and maintain point forward.
  • Liaison with colleagues in other organisations and departments (including Aberdeen City Council’s Data and Insights team).
  • Contribute to the development of BAC’s systems strategy, including identifying potential opportunities for information and data related improvement, integration, rationalisation and development.
  • Participate in and promote a culture of continuous improvement by utilising data to highlight trends/indicators with Managers.
