Roles that require PVG Membership

Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £30,285 per annum / £16.64 per hour)

The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.

Job purpose/about the role

HDRC Aberdeen is one of the first wave of Health Determinants Research Collaborations funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research in 2022. HDRC Aberdeen is led by Aberdeen City Council, in collaboration with The University of Aberdeen, Robert Gordon University, NHS Grampian, and Public Partners. With a focus on the social or wider determinants of health, HDRC Aberdeen has the overarching goal of developing a research active culture within Aberdeen City Council. The social or wider determinants of health are the non-medical factors that influence people’s health outcomes. They are the conditions in which people are born, grow, work, live, and age, and the wider set of forces and systems shaping daily life that include the broad social and economic circumstances which together influence the health of the population. The Council has a significant and diverse range of functions, powers and duties which play a role in shaping the social or wider determinants of health. The HDRC Knowledge Management Officer will provide knowledge management, dissemination and mobilisation support to the HDRC. This role will work closely as part of a small HDRC Team to deliver a coordinated work programme in support of growing a research active culture with Aberdeen City Council and Community Planning Aberdeen.

Requirements

  • A degree or higher education qualification in a discipline related to the work portfolio, for example, information management, knowledge management, public health or equivalent demonstrable experience and knowledge. 

Responsibilities

  • Experience in knowledge and/or content management
  • Experience in providing an internal support service
