Roles that require PVG Membership
Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 10 and above (currently £30,030 per annum / £16.50 per hour)
The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.
job purpose/about the role
To lead and manage the continuous improvement and delivery of adult social care services within Aberdeen City Health & Social Care Partnership (ACHSCP), ensuring safe, effective, and person-centred practice.
The post holder reports directly to the Chief Officer, Adult Social Work and plays a key role in supporting the Chief Social Work Officer function through assurance, performance management and risk oversight. The post holder will be expected to: Travel as required to meet the needs of the service Act at all times in accordance with relevant legislation, statutory guidance, professional codes of practice, and Council policies and procedures Work in line with Adult, Child and Public Protection legislation, principles and policies Maintain SSSC registration and meet all continuing professional development requirements Complete Aberdeen City Council mandatory training and any role specific training requirements
The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:
• A degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Membership of Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme or willingness to join

• Ability to lead and motivate multi-sector and community partnerships.
• Experience of leading change within a complex organisation with an ability to lead significant initiatives within the service
