Roles that require PVG Membership
Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 10 and above (currently £30,030 per annum / £16.50 per hour)
The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.
job purpose/about the role
This role reports to the North East Waste Projects Manager and provides support to the energy from waste contract; to work as part of the contract management team monitoring and administering the Ness Energy contract supporting the delivery of the contract, providing technical and administrative support and co-ordinating activities and information to achieve the objectives of the partner Councils within a complex governance and customer focused environment.
The role also supports other waste related joint activities supplementary to the EFW partnership looking to develop opportunities for joint working and delivery of better value waste and recycling services across the north east area.
An opportunity has arisen for a temporary position as North East Waste Projects Co-ordinator working on the Ness Energy from Waste Project. The postholder will play a key role in the delivery of the service and provide services and represent the interest of the three north east Council partners. Post will provide administrative and operational support to the Project Team and be involved in the daily running of the contract and service. The post will be mainly office based but some home working may be possible.
The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:
- Educated to HNC/HND level or equivalent relevant experience
- Driving Licence
The postholder is able to demonstrate:
- Contract administration;
- Working as part of a team;
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Developing and implementing compliance and monitoring procedures;
- Interpreting contract documents;
- Analysis and presentation of statistics and financial data;
- Communicating effectively in both oral and written forms, including report writing.
- Developing new processes and procedures.
- Building relationships and maintaining good communication links.
