Roles that require PVG Membership
Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £30,285 per annum / £16.64 per hour)
The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.
job purpose/about the role
The Employability and Skills Team is responsible for developing,
planning, managing, and delivering a variety of economic
development projects which will positively impact the sustainable
and inclusive economic growth of Aberdeen City and its region,
particularly in relation to employability and skills. Responsibilities of
the Project Officer include the development and management of
projects from conception to delivery, including both contract and line
management. The role is responsible to a Senior Project Officer, City
Development.
The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:
- Undergraduate degree (or equivalent), or relevant industry experience
- Project management qualification (desirable, not essential)
The postholder is able to demonstrate:

· Proven experience in developing strategy and policy. · Proven experience in contract management and performance monitoring. · Strong communication skills with experience in confidently delivering presentations, leading meetings and handling negotiations · Proven experience in project development and management · Successful collaborative working with peers and multicultural teams, and engaging stakeholders to achieve objectives · Analysing information to produce concise briefing papers and reports · Independently managing workload and competing priorities · Competent user of ICT systems and all MS Office packages · Experience of working on own initiative, without ongoing direct supervision, and as part of a team
