Roles that require PVG Membership
Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 10 and above (currently £30,030 per annum / £16.50 per hour)
The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.
Job purpose/about the role
As a member of the Community Planning Team within the Prevention and Community Empowerment Service you will assist in the support the design and delivery of the Local Outcome Improvement Plan and Locality Plans and the City Voice. The role will provide a research, information and knowledge resource to Community Planning Aberdeen, council staff - and, where appropriate, the council’s community planning partners - in line with the requirements of the Local Outcome Improvement Plan and Locality Plans and the Council Delivery Plan.
The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:
- Degree level or equivalent
The postholder is able to demonstrate:
- Information sources, consultation techniques and best practice research methodology.
- IT skills
- Analytical and learning skills - Ability to monitor, analyse and report on data
- Interpersonal skills necessary to maintain effective communication with colleagues, elected members, partners and the general public
- Ability to work with colleagues to achieve corporate objectives
- Ability to prepare accurate and informative reports
- Ability to deliver presentations to a variety of audiences.
- Experience in working with, and using, different types of data
- Experience with statistical software packages such as SPSS
- Experience in using and maintaining data platforms such as powerbi, excel
