Roles that require PVG Membership
Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £31,505 per annum / £17.31 per hour)
The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.
job purpose/about the role
The Temporary Accommodation Property Officer is responsible for managing tasks related to the void process for temporary accommodation within the Housing Cluster. The officer will coordinate with both internal and external partners to ensure properties are restored to lettable standards. These tasks are to be completed efficiently to
support the timely turnaround and availability of temporary accommodation.
The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:
- Educated to Standard Grade level or equivalent qualification
- Current, full UK driving licence
The postholder is able to demonstrate:
- Experience in delivering public services that meet established standards.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative in the workplace.
- Skill in organising and prioritising workloads to achieve optimal efficiency.
- Experience in engaging effectively with the public during challenging, confrontational, or sensitive situations.
- Proven ability to meet demanding deadlines consistently.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with diverse audiences.
- Skill in maintaining meticulous and accurate records.
- Proficiency in using a range of computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
- Commitment to taking full responsibility for personal professional practice.
