Job Description
Property & Facilities Management has a vacancy for up to two experienced Architectural Technologists within its Construction Design team.
Reporting to one of two Principal Architects (and Construction Design Manager) within the Property & Facilities Management service, you will provide a full range of architectural services including the preparation and provision of design proposals, technical drawings, and associated information. The Architecture team deliver a wide variety of project types from small housing improvement works through to new-build schools, housing, offices, and depots. This post will provide an exciting opportunity for applicants with a range of experience, and relevant training can be provided where necessary. The office delivers ISO 19650 (BIM L2) compliant projects and knowledge of this process, and the associated software packages, may be an advantage.
The role also provides technical and practical advice to other property disciplines, client departments, and external clients. You will work as part of an experienced multi-disciplinary team supporting the delivery of varied projects across Aberdeenshire that support services for local communities. This is an opportunity to contribute directly to the quality, safety, and long-term performance of public buildings and housing assets across Aberdeenshire.
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with design teams, contractors, clients and other stakeholders, while supporting effective project delivery. There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.
This post requires the ability to travel throughout Aberdeenshire, and the post holder will be required to hold a current full driving licence and have access to a car for work purposes (a council vehicle can be available).
There is up to two full-time (initially two-year fixed term) posts available.
