Assistant Cook

Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and motivated individual to provide support within our busy café at Aden Country Park. This position is offered on a zero-hours, ad-hoc basis to provide cover during staff holidays and other busy periods.

The ideal candidate will have:

A sound understanding of current food hygiene legislation and best practices

Proven experience working in a fast-paced kitchen or café environment

Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently when required

Key Responsibilities Include:

Adhering to the Food Safety Management System, including completion of all required records and documentation

Preparing and serving hot food items, cooked to order

Opening and closing the café in line with procedures

Daily cash handling and banking

Supervising staff during shifts to ensure smooth and efficient operation

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.
