Job Description
We are looking for a Business Systems Officer to join our Environment & Infrastructure Services, Business Systems Team supporting internal and external users for our Asset Management and Bodet systems utilising various business tools including Crystal Reports & PowerBI.
As part of the Team you will contribute to the development and implementation, configuration, and operational usage of one of the Council major systems.
The individual in this role will report to a Senior Business Systems Officer. Their responsibilities will include offering daily support to system users and ensuring the system operates effectively. The post holder will collaborate with management and front-line service officers to execute changes and enhancements, which will involve developing new work methods, conducting software testing, and integrating new business practices in accordance with agreed-timescales, requirements, and standards.
Additionally, you will provide specialist advice and guidance to managers, colleagues, operational and support staff and members of the public who use the systems. Addressing topics such as system configuration, business processes, and performance monitoring requirements.
The successful candidate must be enthusiastic, technically minded, able to demonstrate disciplined approach to work as part of a team or as an individual, being able to deliver training to all levels of system users as required and form positive relationships and deal with people confidently.
Your new role:
- Maintain and improve the Councils Asset Management system and Bodet.
- Monitor and analyse system performance and identify any issues.
- Deliver training to all levels of users either 1:1 or group training.
- Provide technical advice and support to the users.
- Troubleshoot system problems and identify solutions.
- Analyse customer requirements and design, develop and implement innovative solutions.
- Collate, analyse and provide statistical information and reports that will be used to support operations
- Must be ‘hands-on’ with a proactive approach

Requirements
Key Skills:
- HNC or equivalent level qualification, experience or transferable skills
- Experience of working with databases and complex applications
- Innovation, problem solving and prioritisation
- Information management and understanding of data security principles
- A working knowledge of other systems generally including, but not limited to, Crystal reports PowerBI and Office365/SharePoint,
- Good digital skills
- Experience of working in local government and with public sector systems and applications would be an advantage.
