Job Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic and forward thinking Educational Psychologist to join our Educational Psychology Service. The successful applicant must be registered, or eligible to be registered, with the Health and Care Professionals Council and be able to take up post by 1st September 2024. Current Educational Psychologists in Training (year 3) are welcome to apply.
The successful candidate will be a motivated and reflective practitioner, committed to working within a consultation model of service delivery, and passionate about utilising their psychological knowledge and skills to improve outcomes for all children and young people. Aberdeenshire’s Educational Psychologists are supported to lead on key areas of work within the service, including trauma informed practice, nurture, nurture play, CIRCLE, Video Interaction Guidance, restorative practice and understanding and supporting autistic learners. They are also encouraged to contribute to strategic improvement work across the local authority.

You must have a current driving license and be able to provide a car, for which appropriate travel expenses will be paid.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. An offer of employment by Aberdeenshire Council will be subject to the outcome of this check being satisfactory.
