Job Description

A rare opportunity to shape a new leadership role at the heart of child protection, corporate parenting and quality assurance across Aberdeenshire Children's Services.

We are excited to introduce a new Lead Review Manager post within Aberdeenshire Children's Services. This is a unique opportunity to shape a newly established role with responsibility for leading and developing our Review Manager service, strengthening quality assurance, and driving excellence across child protection and looked after children processes

As Lead Review Manager, you will provide leadership to a team of Review Managers, ensuring statutory responsibilities are delivered to the highest standard while promoting positive outcomes for children, young people and families. You will play a key role in influencing practice, developing systems and processes, analysing performance information, and supporting wider service improvement across Children's Services.

You'll lead a highly skilled team whose work sits at the heart of safeguarding and corporate parenting services. Key responsibilities include:
• Leading, supervising and developing the Review Manager team.
• Chairing and overseeing Child Protection Planning Meetings, Looked After Child Reviews, Care and Risk Management Meetings and other statutory forums.
• Driving quality assurance, audit and continuous improvement activity.
• Using data and insight to improve practice and ensure statutory responsibilities are met.
• Working closely with senior leaders and multi-agency partners to influence positive change.
• Supporting oversight of external care budgets and identifying opportunities for improved efficiency and value.

We're looking for an accomplished and confident Social Worker who can combine strategic thinking with strong operational leadership.

You will bring:
• A recognised Social Work qualification and current SSSC registration.
• Significant experience within children's services and substantial experience of the Review Manager role.
• Strong knowledge of child protection, looked after children and relevant legislation.
• Experience of supervising and developing staff.
• A commitment to trauma-informed, relationship-based and rights-respecting practice.
• Excellent chairing, communication and partnership-working skills.
• The ability to lead improvement, manage complexity and influence outcomes across agencies.
