Job Description

Aberdeenshire Council is committed to increasing the opportunities in the local area by providing Modern Apprenticeships (MA's). These allow you to gain skills, experience and knowledge in the world of work as well as gaining a formal qualification.

Based in the Planning and Economy Team within Infrastructure Services at Employment and Support Team, Unit 15, Harlaw Way, Inverurie you will be required to assist in the provision of a range of administrative duties including throughput of new planning and building warrant applications using our Platforms and Electronic Document Management Systems.

You will gain experience in file management, conversion of documents, scanning, receipting of financial information and customer service skills. You will have good communication and organisational skills and be eager to learn and able to work as part of a team.

Successful candidates will be placed on an approved programme of training through the Aberdeenshire Council Modern Apprenticeship Scheme for SVQ Level 2. In order to qualify for the appropriate funding from Skills Development Scotland this MA programme is open to candidates aged 16-19. If you have a disability or are a care leaver* then you are also eligible to apply up to the age of 29. Academic achievement to Scottish National Level 4 or 5 or Standard Grade in Mathematics and English, or equivalent transferable experience and Skills is essential.

*Any adult who spent time in care as a child.

Fixed term for a period not exceeding 12 months.
