Job Description
Live Life Aberdeenshire has an exciting opportunity to join its growing museums team on a two-year fixed term arrangement, to drive forward our heritage offer and deliver on ambitious plans.
The post of Museums Development Coordinator will be responsible for the overall governance and management of Aberdeenshire’s Museum Collection and archives, and the ongoing efficiency of daily operations including the staffing team.
A key purpose of this role will be to contribute to the strategic delivery of the museums service including support for capital projects, refurbishments, exhibitions, and outreach learning programmes. You will assume project management responsibility for key heritage initiatives across Aberdeenshire in line with local and national strategies for Culture. Other responsibilities include analysis of qualitative and quantitative data, and preparation of reports to ensure the Service retains Accreditation status.
You will have line management responsibility for a team of three professional museum staff at Museums HQ in Mintlaw, where you will be based, including a curator, conservator and customer services & commercial officer. You will report to the Cultural Engagement Manager.
Secondment arrangements will be considered based on the advertised salary, on condition that candidates have the mutual consent of their current employer.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.
Fixed Term for a period not exceeding 31/07/2025
There is the possibility of reviewing and extending this contract into a third year beyond the fixed term period, this will be subject to securing funds.
