Job Description

Internal vacancy – applications for this post will only be accepted from current employees of Aberdeenshire Council (this includes relief staff and agency staff who are currently undertaking work with us).

The roles provide essential technical and customer‑facing support to assist in the delivery of the Council’s statutory planning functions across Development Management teams. The Planning Technician role is often the first point of contact for customers engaging with the Planning Service. Post holders are expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to quality service delivery and continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the wider organisation.

The roles offer the opportunity to gain experience across a wide range of planning work within a professional local authority environment. Training and development will be provided in line with service requirements.

These posts operate on a hybrid working basis, combining office based‑ in line with service requirements and Council hybrid working arrangements.
