Principal Teacher - Early Years (Kellands Schools)

Do you want to make a difference to the future outcomes of Aberdeenshire’s youngest children and families?

We are delighted to be recruiting a Principal Teacher (Early Years) to join our established Early Learning and Childcare team. We are looking for individuals who are highly motivated and dynamic and can work as part of our team to support local authority and funded provider settings across Aberdeenshire to ensure we deliver quality ELC provision and raise standards.

You will work collaboratively with ELC staff and management teams across Aberdeenshire promoting learning and teaching of the highest quality to maximise the attainment of all pupils. You will support settings progress their aims and targets as set out in their improvement plans.

You must have experience of working with early years children and their families and have an excellent knowledge of current national and local policies and procedures including ‘Realising the Ambition’ and ‘The National Standards’ and 'ELC Quality Improvement Framework.'

To fulfil this role, you will require to hold current full driving licence and have a car available, whenever required, in order to undertake the full range of duties of the post.

Please note that this role will be supporting settings across Central Aberdeenshire

Please note that the grade for this position may be subject to change. Promoted Teaching Posts that meet the criteria will be resized on an annual basis, in line with the SNCT Handbook. Any grade change will be effective from 1st August each year.

Salary for this post will be in accordance with SNCT agreements. Applicants must be or eligible to be fully GTC Scotland registered. If you qualified as a Teacher out with Scotland, please visit GTCS – Qualified Outside Scotland and review the GTCS FAQs for more information around obtaining registration with the General Teaching Council Scotland.

Requirements

This post has a minimum requirement of two references, one of which must be your current or most recent employer.

This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
