Job Description
Are you ready to lead transformational change and make a real impact in our communities? Aberdeenshire Council is looking for a dynamic Project Manager to support Pride in Place programme in Peterhead.
Supporting and advising the community-led Peterhead Neighbourhood Board, you’ll be at the heart of shaping vibrant, sustainable neighbourhoods by ensuring successful strategic planning, governance, and project delivery. You’ll enable local communities and stakeholders to engage, and influence the Board and make sure projects, grant schemes and commissions are delivered – on time, within budget and achieving the programme’s intended outcomes and expectations.
While recruited by the local authority, this role requires a unique ability to navigate dual accountability, ensuring seamless collaboration and effective communication between both the local authority and the Peterhead Neighbourhood Board.

Requirements
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the Pride in Place Programme Delivery: Oversee the development and implementation of the Pride in Place programme, including governance, monitoring, reporting, consultation, procurement, and project execution.
- Manage Projects and Resources: Ensure all projects align with agreed plans, budgets, and timelines, applying a structured programme management approach.
- Coordinate Stakeholder Engagement: Organise and lead consultations with communities, partners, elected officials, and other stakeholders to inform decisions and manage change effectively.
- Provide Strategic Advice and Reporting: Advise boards and senior leaders on programme issues, prepare reports for governance bodies and funding agencies, and ensure compliance with UK/Scottish Government requirements.
- Direct Teams and Collaborate: Lead project teams and working groups, manage meetings, and liaise with internal services and external partners.
Key skills and experience:
- A degree-level qualification or equivalent experience and commitment to professional development.
- Proven experience in project and programme management.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong Analytical and Communication Skills with an ability to interpret complex or sensitive information and present it clearly to diverse audiences.
- High Level of Initiative demonstrating independence and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
