Job Description

Live Life Aberdeenshire has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Officer on a full-time, fixed-term basis for 18 months.

The Council is currently working on an ambitious new museum of Aberdeenshire located in Peterhead and due to open in 2027. National Lottery Heritage Fund Stage 1 funding has been secured to develop a Stage 2 application for submission in November 2025. This will focus on the fit-out of the new museum galleries but will be heavily influenced by a programme of community co-creation and co-curation. The main purpose of the Project Officer (Cultural Tides Project) role during Stage 1 will be to drive the community engagement, ensure delivery of the Stage 1 activities, contribute to the Stage 2 funding application (working with the Project Lead (LLA) and other members of the wider project team), and ensure appropriate monitoring and evaluation of the project is delivered.

You will be responsible for line management of Learning & Access Officers and will have day-to-day oversight of the Lottery reporting and budget management. You will report directly to the Museums Development Co-ordinator. Your work base will be at the Discovery Centre at Museums HQ in Mintlaw.

Secondment opportunities will be considered based on the advertised salary, subject to candidates having the mutual consent of their current employer.

Fixed Term for a period not exceeding 31/05/2026.
