Job Description

The Place Information and Delivery (PI&D) Team has a key role within Aberdeenshire Council’s Environment and Infrastructure Services. Sitting under the Planning and Economy umbrella, working alongside colleagues in Development Management and Planning Policy.

The Team actively works with other Council Services and the development industry to facilitate the delivery of Housing and Employment land. Designing and developing a Delivery Programme, a key part of the Local Development Plan, mapping a pipeline of development across Aberdeenshire. We ensure appropriate resources are directed to where they are necessary to support development to occur, while continually monitoring the success of allocations, policies and their implementation.

This is an opportunity to work across planning, in both policy development and delivery, contributing to strategic and high profile projects, and to collaborate with a wide range of internal and external partners.

Additionally this role offers opportunity for range of stakeholder engagement, linking local and community planning through Local Place Plans, development of Town Centre Health Checks and our Facilities Monitor. Officers are also involved in innovative work, including the use of digital tools such as ArcGIS and Power BI to improve how we present and use information.

The post holder will work within the team to assist the Council in better understanding the communities we serve, and the economic and natural environment we operate in, to ensure the most effective allocations of services and resources to deliver services and facilitate development. The Team is adaptable and approachable, and often use positive, proactive measures to encourage development to proceed. The team offers a rich environment to develop analytical and technical skills alongside collaborative working with external and internal services to assist in delivering projects.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.
