Job Description
Property & Facilities Management has two vacancies for a Property Clerk of Works - Building within the Construction Design team.
Reporting to the Senior Property Clerk of Works within the Property & Facilities Management service, you will inspect and monitor construction works across a wide range of Council projects. You will help ensure that on-site works are carried out in accordance with Council standards, drawings, specifications, schedules, relevant regulations, and contract requirements, and that the required standards of workmanship, materials, quality and value for money are achieved.
The role also provides technical and practical advice to other property disciplines, client departments and external clients. You will work as part of an experienced multi-disciplinary team supporting the delivery of varied projects across Aberdeenshire, from housing improvements and repairs through to larger-scale facilities that support services for local communities. This is an opportunity to contribute directly to the quality, safety and long-term performance of public buildings and housing assets across Aberdeenshire.
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate relevant site-based trade, supervisory or inspection experience, together with the practical knowledge required to inspect a wide range of project types and scales. You should be able to work collaboratively with design teams, contractors, tradespersons, clients and other stakeholders, while maintaining clear records and supporting effective project delivery. There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.
This post requires the ability to travel throughout Aberdeenshire, and the post holder will be required to hold a current full driving licence and have access to a car for work purposes (a council vehicle can be available).
There is up to two full-time (initially two-year fixed term) posts available.
