School Nursing Assistant

Job Description

Educated to standard grade level or equivalent, particularly in English and Maths you are experienced in working with young people and have a recognised 'First Aid' qualification or nursing qualification. You are also an excellent communicator.

Undertake First Aid procedures and provide support for pupils and other persons within the Academy who are unwell, consulting with other Health Professionals, and parents as appropriate.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation

Undertake First Aid procedures

Support pupils who are unwell or distressed

Facilitate privacy and safe access to medication for pupils in school

Undertake administrative duties as required

Communicate with Pupils, Parents, and other services as required

This post is regulated work with children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where applicable, this post also requires an Overseas Criminal Record Check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

This post has a minimum requirement of one reference which must be your current or most recent employer.
