Job Description

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the Huntly Children and Families Team as a Senior Practitioner on a permanent basis. For the right candidate, an application for part-time hours may be considered. Please contact Kirsty Yau directly to discuss this further if interested.

The team currently consists of 3 family support workers, 2 local area coordinators, 6 social workers and 1 senior practitioner (due to be vacant).

This role presents a chance for someone with a post-graduate qualification (or currently in the process of undertaking a qualification) who is interested in working within a friendly and supportive team. There is a mixture of voluntary, early support family work, as well as statutory input, and we work closely with the other agencies in the area. There is regular supervision as well as an open door policy within the building and over the phone for informal discussions.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.

It is Aberdeenshire Council’s procedure that applicants for vacancies of this nature require to attend an assessment centre as well as interview. Please note, assessment centres and interviews may be carried out on different dates which will be confirmed in due course.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

This post has a minimum requirement of two references, one of these must be your current or most recent employer.
