Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Children’s Social Worker to join our busy Children & Families Team in Ellon, Aberdeenshire, based within the newly developed Ellon Family Centre. This modern, community-focused environment supports integrated, relationship-based practice.

The successful candidate will deliver high-quality statutory social work in line with GIRFEC, child protection legislation and The Promise, while contributing to a forward-thinking service that prioritises early intervention, partnership working and community connection. You will work within current Aberdeenshire Council policies and procedures, building effective partnerships with children, families and multi-agency partners.

You will manage a varied caseload, including child protection, looked after children and early intervention work, and demonstrate strong assessment, analytical and communication skills, alongside the ability to build meaningful relationships.

The role may include opportunities to contribute to working groups and occasional out-of-authority travel.

We are seeking a reflective, resilient and organised practitioner who is committed to continuous professional learning and delivering high standards of practice. In return, we offer a supportive management structure, regular supervision, opportunities for professional development, and the chance to make a meaningful and lasting impact within the Ellon community.
