Job Description
An opportunity has arisen within the Housing Asset Management, Stock Improvement team for a full-time Stock Condition Surveyor (SCS) covering the East Area of Aberdeenshire. The post is based in Peterhead, but this is a hybrid role, mainly working from home with the option to Hotdesk in any available office as required.
The post is for a fixed term of 24 months. You will also provide support to the Asset Management Team and cover for colleagues who are absent through rota/sickness/annual leave.
As a SCS you will ensure the provision of good quality council housing with modern facilities through the delivery of the Housing Asset Management’s stock improvement programme, managing the delivery of house condition and energy efficiency surveys, ensuring housing achieves ongoing compliance with the Scottish Housing Quality Housing Standard, to meet the 2020 Climate Change Standard.
Be responsible for ensuring a link between tenants/owners and contractors/other services to ensure the smooth operation of stock improvement activities. Undertake stock condition surveys to provide the necessary data to contribute to the delivery of stock improvements per current legislation, regulations and council contracts. Effectively resolve enquiries or complaints made by tenants in connection with stock improvement works and advise on the technical aspects of Tenant’s Improvement applications.
There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation

Requirements
This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
