Job Description
Are you passionate about libraries, creative programming and community engagement? Live Life Aberdeenshire (LLA) is looking for a Support Librarian to help shape and deliver an exciting creative programme of events, workshops, learning activities and income-generating initiatives across our library service.
Working collaboratively and leading teams, you will promote access to literacy and local heritage, support libraries as vibrant community spaces, and help ensure activities meet local needs. You will also monitor impact, support staff, and build strong partnerships locally and nationally to ensure our services are accessible, innovative and effectively resourced. This will include preparing bids for additional funding.
The varied role currently ranges from holiday programmes to Memories Scotland sessions in sheltered housing, targeted outreach in rural communities to major author events and cross-arts events in collaboration with health partnerships and heritage services. The post includes line management of the Libraries Local Studies Unit and Doorstep Delivery Van Outreach team. Reporting to the Library Development Coordinator, you will play a key role in strengthening a dynamic, engaging and sustainable library service across Aberdeenshire.
If you enjoy turning ideas into action and have a track record of delivering engaging events, activities or learning programmes that successfully connect people with services, we want to hear from you.
The deadline for applications is midnight Tuesday 9th June 2026.
