Job Description

We are recruiting for Survey Assistants to join the Planning and Economy Service to play an important role in surveying, data gathering, mapping and analysis that will input into a range of place-based and research projects. A key focus of the role will be contributing to the Brownfield Capacity Study, which will assess opportunities for brownfield regeneration as part of the Local Development Plan preparation. The study will cover the whole of Aberdeenshire and will involve a combination of site visits and desktop data collection. The findings will directly inform the Proposed Local Development Plan.

The role would suit an individual that is motivated and enthusiastic, and will offer a great opportunity to be involved with a wide range of activities and projects across the whole of Aberdeenshire. The successful candidate will be supported into the job. This role is a perfect opportunity for anyone wanting to gain an insight into the practical workings of a planning authority, including seeing how in practice the Planning (Scotland) Act 2019 is being implemented whilst gaining valuable planning experience.
You will work alongside council officers and be responsible for supporting work that makes a positive difference in our communities and support our ambitions for the area. This position is not likely to exceed a 3-month period with hrs up to 30 hrs a week.
