Job Description

We are keen to recruit an enthusiastic and innovative Foundation Apprenticeship Teacher for the Children and Young People Framework to deliver in various schools throughout Aberdeenshire.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering both the NPA and SVQ elements of the programme. It may be necessary to achieve the SVQ Assessor qualification within this role for which training would be provided.

They will also bring substantial experience in Early Years and/or Primary education, along with a strong understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies suited to secondary school learners. The ability to engage, motivate, and support young people in developing skills for future careers is essential.

Foundation Apprenticeships have become an incredibly successful part of Aberdeenshire’s Senior phase curriculum offer, driving significant increases in levels of achievement and having positive and significant transformational impacts on the opportunities and life chances for our young people. Requirements

This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Salary for this post will be in accordance with SNCT agreements. Applicants must be or eligible to be fully GTC Scotland registered. If you qualified as a Teacher out with Scotland, please visit GTCS – Qualified Outside Scotland and review the GTCS FAQs for more information around obtaining registration with the General Teaching Council Scotland.
