Job Description
Roads and Infrastructure (R&I) Services are seeking a proactive and adaptable Technical Assistant to join our Quality & Resources team. This varied role provides essential support across a wide range of service activities, contributing to effective planning, monitoring, and service delivery.
You will play a key role in supporting functions such as budget monitoring, winter maintenance readiness, training coordination, data analysis, and performance reporting, including national benchmarking. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety in their work, has an analytical mindset, and can adapt to changing priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with preparation and maintenance of budget monitoring reports.
- Support the coordination of winter maintenance readiness, including collating operational plans and liaising with teams.
- Organise and support training arrangements across the service.
- Carry out data analysis, reporting, and performance monitoring activities.
- Contribute to national benchmarking exercises, ensuring accurate data submission and understanding of performance indicators.
- Provide general technical and administrative support across R&I as required.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will bring a blend of technical capability, analytical thinking, and a flexible approach to supporting a wide range of Roads and Infrastructure activities. The role requires someone who is comfortable working with data, systems, and people, and who can adapt to shifting priorities while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and organisation.

Requirements
Technical Skills
- Strong working knowledge of Office 365, particularly Power Apps and Power BI.
- Experience in data analytics, including data cleansing, interpretation, and reporting.
- Ability to work with or create scheduling tools or structured planning processes.
- General understanding of budget monitoring and financial tracking.
- Understanding of hourly rate calculations.
