Job Description

 Live Life Aberdeenshire are looking for someone with excellent customers service skills to join our libraries and cultural team.

As part of the libraries team, you will assist in the provision of library services to the community. As well as having excellent communication skills, you will need good digital skills and the ability to work with all age groups. In addition, the postholder will participate in a range of duties such as helping customers with any enquiries, children’s events, storytelling and participating in outreach events. It is essential that you have a flexible approach and an enthusiasm for libraries and culture.  

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.

This post has a minimum requirement of one reference which must be your current or most recent employer.

This post requires a Disclosure Scotland Check and where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Work Pattern: The post holder must work during library open hours which are: Tuesday 2pm - 7pm; Wednesday 9am - 2pm; Thursday 12noon - 5pm and an additional 3 hours is required for admin and outreach.
