The Opportunity

Are you practical, enjoy fixing things and want to build a career where no two days are the same? This is a fantastic opportunity to start your journey as a Modern Apprentice Mechanic. 

Working alongside experienced mechanics, you'll learn how to inspect, service, maintain and repair a wide range of grounds maintenance equipment used to keep our parks, open spaces and communities looking their best. From diagnosing faults to carrying out repairs, you'll gain valuable hands-on experience while developing the technical skills needed for a rewarding career. 

This role is ideal for someone aged 16-24 who is keen to learn, enjoys working with tools and equipment, and is committed to developing new skills. You'll also learn the importance of teamwork, health and safety, record keeping and delivering high standards of workmanship.

  • If you’re invited to interview, we’ll make the process fair, supportive and free of surprises
  • Our aim is to help you feel calm, prepared and confident in showing your strengths
  • You will be invited to an interview and asked questions, you will also undertake a basic test as well as a practical test.

    The basic test involves simple arithmetic questions and basic mechanical questions

    The practical test could involve being asked to identify some mechanical components.
