You will have the opportunity to benefit from our flexible and agile working practices. This means you will work from home for part of your week and spend some time in council buildings to best suit your work, meetings and collaboration.

Angus Council is inviting applications from talented, adaptable and enthusiastic legal professionals to complement our legal services team.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit an information Governance Paralegal, which is a key role with a focus on joint working with the Angus Health and Social Care Partnership. The role provides an opportunity to lead and facilitate change and improvement on all areas of Information Governance within a supportive team. The Post is offered on a full-time permanent basis.

We are looking for applicants with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, the desire and ability to work collectively and become a key team member. The workload will be varied, challenging and interesting. You will be supported in a collegiate environment and encouraged to develop a full range of legal and other skills to advance your career with us.

You will have a legal qualification or relevant experience which allows you to practise as a Paralegal. You will have a sound understanding of data protection legislation, Freedom of Information legislation, Environmental Information request legislation and records management matters. If you don't have specific experience in this area, you will have a commitment to learning these areas and a track record of learning new areas of law. You will work closely with the Angus Health and Social Care Partnership on all matters relating to Information Governance so you will have a good understanding or a strong willingness to learn how local government and partnership working operates.

You will be a team player committed to improvement work. You will be a strong communicator, able to present and deliver training and provide advice to client services.
