Job Description

Based at Carnoustie High School, 7 Shanwell Road, Carnoustie.

This job is workstyle 1 – Fixed 

In this workstyle most of your time is spent undertaking the direct delivery of front-line services work. Depending on your role there may be a limited requirement to access a specific council location during the course of the working week if you are not delivering your service at a council location. 

Angus Council is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our school community as a Pool Attendant / Plant Operator & Swim Instructor.  

You will work 30 hours per week, term time working or equivalent, 200 days.

Working hours will be flexible and aligned to operational opening times, which are typically: Monday to Friday: 7.00pm – 9.00pm and Saturday & Sunday: 9.00am – 4.00pm.

Flexibility is essential to meet the needs of the service and will be discussed further at interview.

In this varied role, you will support the safe and effective operation of the swimming pool and associated facilities, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, and assisting with pool plant operations. You will also play a key role in ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for all users and supporting school and community swimming activities.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to health and safety, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
