Job Description
Based at Arbroath Academy, Glenisla Drive, Arbroath.
This job is Workstyle 1 - Fixed
In this workstyle most of your time is spent undertaking the direct delivery of front-line services work. Depending on your role there may be a limited requirement to access a specific council location during the course of the working week if you are not delivering your service at a council location.
Duties will include:
- Assisting principal teachers of science subjects with classroom demonstrations of science experiments and techniques as requested.
- Assisting principal teachers of science subjects with stocktaking, requisitioning of chemicals and apparatus.
- Preparing materials and equipment, for science kits as required.
- Preparing stock solutions including botanical materials and replenishment of reagent bottles.
- Assisting principal teacher in the storage, control and disposal of chemicals.
- Setting up and dismantle science apparatus and equipment and organise its storage.
- Maintaining aquaria and vivaria and all animals and plants in the science department.
- Preparing and disposing of agar plates.
