Job Description

Based at Angus House, Orchardbank Business Park, Forfar, DD8 1AN

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to take responsibility for the management, strategy and development of the Council’s property estate. This is a pivotal leadership role ensuring our assets deliver maximum value, support service delivery, and meet community needs.

As Service Leader – Assets, you will:

  • Drive the development and implementation of asset management strategies aligned with Council priorities.
  • Oversee the management of buildings, land, leases, and property development projects.
  • Ensure statutory compliance across all properties, including fire safety, asbestos, legionella, and other health and safety requirements.
  • Lead financial planning for the asset portfolio, managing budgets, controlling expenditure, and identifying income opportunities.
  • Provide strong leadership to asset management teams, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate asset records and ensure robust governance of property data.
  • Oversee the delivery of a programme of capital projects.

This job is workstyle 5- Hybrid+.

You will have the opportunity to benefit from our flexible and agile working practices. This means you will work from home for part of your week and spend some time in council buildings to best suit your work, meetings and collaboration.
