Job Description
Based at Bruce House, Wellgate, Arbroath.
These jobs are workstyle 4 - Hybrid.
You will have the opportunity to benefit from our flexible and agile working practices. This means you will work from a variety of locations, working from council buildings, working in service user’s locations and site visits and you can work from home to best suit your work, meetings and collaboration.
There are two positions available. One position is permanent and one position is temporary for up to 12 months from date of appointment.
Vacancies have arisen for two Social Workers in the Angus Integrated Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service (AIDARS). AIDARS is an integrated Health and Social Work Service which provides a person-centred and trauma-informed approach to the assessment and provision of treatment and evidence-based interventions for people who use alcohol and/or drugs.
As a Social Worker in AIDARS, you will carry out comprehensive assessments with adults and carers who may require social work input, provide and arrange support, and undertake reviews. There is a requirement for substance use specific training and interventions as part of the role. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team within AIDARS and a variety of services and agencies across Angus and Tayside.
We are keen to attract motivated professionals committed to promoting the recovery of people who use substances by upholding their rights and reducing harm. Our work often requires quick responses to meet the needs of the most vulnerable in society who may require statutory safeguarding measures guided by local policy and procedures.
Internal and external applications on a secondment basis will be considered (for the temporary position). You must have the approval of your line manager / organisation.
You will be asked to indicate on your application form which position you are applying for.
Please note interviews will be held Wednesday, 7 October 2026.
Requirements
You must have the ability to become a member of the PVG Scheme.
Please refer to job outline and person specification for further details and requirements for these jobs.
