The Opportunity
Start or advance your finance career with Angus Council. As a Trainee Accountant you’ll learn, earn and grow within a friendly and experienced Finance team. No previous finance experience needed – just curiosity, motivation and a willingness to learn.
You’ll gain practical skills and experience across areas like preparing revenue and capital budgets, undertaking budgetary control, preparing annual accounts, financial system maintenance and development and assisting in corporate functions such as Treasury Management while working toward a recognised qualification. With mentoring and on-the-job training, you’ll build confidence and contribute to work that supports communities across Angus.

These jobs are temporary for up to 3 years from date of appointment.

Who Can Apply?
You will need to have one of the following:
- Be currently working towards a CCAB accounting qualification, or
- Hold a relevant university degree, or
- Be AAT qualified.
You will be committed to achieve the professional accountancy qualifications and competencies within the career grade structure.
