Job Description

Based at Bruce House, Wellgate, Arbroath.

This job is workstyle 5 - Hybrid

You will have the opportunity to benefit from our flexible and agile working practices. This means you will work from home for part of your week and spendsome time in council buildings to best suit your work, meetings and collaboration.

You will work as part of the waste strategy team, dealing with complaints and enquiries relating to household and commercial waste within West Arbroath, Carnoustie and surrounding area.

You will monitor areas for litter or other waste issues and will carry out enforcement action in relation to abandoned vehicles, flytipping, litter and dog fouling. You will liaise with commercial waste customers regarding the council’s commercial waste service.

You will have an HNC or equivalent qualification and/or relevant experience in waste management. Excellent customer care skills are required, along with good organisational/time management and team working skills. Good IT skills (in particular the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook) are essential, as are excellent oral and written communication skills and maintaining accurate records. The ability to work unsupervised and to use your initiative and make decisions, and work flexibly with a willingness to work outside/patrol areas on foot, are all essential. Knowledge of recycling and waste management would be an advantage.

A full, current driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.

This job is temporary until no later than 31 May 2028.
