An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Argyll and Bute Council as a Catering Manager within Ardfenaig Care Home. This role is ideal for someone confident in leading people, managing kitchen operations, and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. You will be central to the day‑to‑day success of the catering service.

This role is based within a local authority care home, providing a vital catering service for older adults. The Catering Manager is responsible for the day‑to‑day running of the kitchen, leading a small team and working closely with care staff, residents, and families to ensure individual needs and preferences are met.

Key duties include menu planning and food preparation, ordering and stock control, budget management, and maintaining high standards of food hygiene and safety, including compliance with HACCP and Safe Food System requirements.

The role plays an important part in supporting residents’ health, wellbeing, and daily quality of life through safe, nutritious, and enjoyable meals.

You will be a confident and organised Catering Manager who enjoys leading people and bringing ideas to life.

With experience in a residential or commercial catering setting, you will take pride in producing good‑quality food, maintaining high food safety standards, and supporting your team to grow and develop their skills.

You will have the confidence to manage ordering, stock control and budgets, develop menus with knowledge of special dietary needs, and play an active role in shaping a welcoming dining experience for residents.
