In preparation of a pending retirement in March 2025, we are recruiting for a Principal Environmental Health Officer (Health, Safety and Environment) within Argyll and Bute Council. The key remits are to lead on health and safety , environmental noise and licensing related issues. The post also provides day to day supervision and support to operational teams on these issues and provides support to service managers. This is the ideal opportunity for an experienced environmental health officer wishing to develop their career with a interest in these areas of work.
You will have proven experience supervising teams and in carrying out the full range of health and safety and environmental enforcement. The Principal EHO role also provides the opportunity and challenge for those wishing to develop their careers and move to a supervisory role, and to act as the enforcement lead for health and safety . You will have good leadership, interpersonal and communication skills. good organisational skills and an ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
The post is a hybrid post and the location can be flexible in Argyll and Bute.
