The Council is looking to recruit a dynamic, client-focused, personable and technically strong Assistant Interior Designer with previous people, design, project and contract management experience. You will be part of a growing team of Interior Designers within the in-house multi discipline design service for the Council.
CEC are leading the way for Public sector in the adoption of low and zero carbon technologies. CEC have adopted PassivHaus as the default standard for all its new build projects and are developing a carbon focussed approach for the large number of up-and-coming RetroFit refurbishment projects. This leads to a portfolio of interesting and market leading projects requiring high levels of technical understanding.
You should have a design qualification and hold or be working towards a membership of a related professional body. Applicants should have extensive post qualification experience and a proven track record in the delivery of complex, and innovative programmes of work in new build and existing operational buildings. Also, a proven ability of successfully working with a team of professional designers and project managers, both internal and external.
A key function will be to manage client and user expectations within the limits of the financial allocation of project programmes. It is expected you will have post-qualification experience in design and project/contract management, as well as experience of working as part of a professional design team. Experience and a working knowledge in Revit, Revit Family Creation, COBie Data, MS Office, AutoCAD, alongside other related software packages is essential. You are also required to have some understanding and experience of Passive Haus design for new buildings and EnerPhit retrofit design in existing and operational buildings. Experience within the field of design for Educational buildings would also be of benefit.
You should have great communication skills both written and spoken and be able to present well as a representative of the Council. You will be confident in leading consultation sessions with stakeholders and clients groups and have a diplomatic and considered approach in your presentation style.
