Day Support Worker – Be Able Service(City Wide)
South Office

Salary: £22,185 - £24,590
Hours: 36 per week

A creative, enthusiastic, emotionally resilient, individuals are being sought to join the Be Able Team.

Be Able support people who are 55 and over, who may have lost confidence, reduced mobility, have a history of falls and may also be living with mild to moderate dementia.

Be Able does this by supporting people to participate in strength and balance exercises (Otago). Be Able also supports people to participate in Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) on a 1:1 basis or in a small group setting. Both interventions are evidence based and validated.

Be Able supports people using a blended approach, this includes 1:1 outreach within people’s own homes, virtual support, or in small groups to enable people to work towards agreed, realistic goals and outcomes that will enable people to maintain or regain their physical and/or mental wellbeing and where appropriate. Be Able day support workers also work closely within communities which expands their knowledge of community-based resources to enable them to signpost or link people back into their community and other activities.

The successful applicant will be required to support individuals to achieve their agreed outcomes in a flexible and person-centred way, using the 3 Conversations approach which focuses on peoples strengths and assets.

Applicants should have previous experience in a range of social care and / or health settings and have good organisational and practical skills. The successful individual must have the ability to build positive and productive relationships. You should have good communication and listening skills, as well as sound knowledge of basic IT systems.

This role requires an understanding of Adult Protection legislation and the ability to work with staff to support risk assessment and decision making.
