Kirkliston Primary School serves the village of Kirkliston and the surrounding rural area and has a wide social mix. The school is part of the Queensferry cluster of schools and is set across two sites with a school roll of over 600 pupils and 22 classes. The two sites include the main primary school hosting Primary 2 - 7 and Early Learning and Childcare hosting four Primary 1 classes and a full year nursery with capacity for 113 children from 0-5 years.
Our staff consists of Head Teacher, two Depute Head Teachers, Business Manager, two Principal Teachers, 22 class teachers, two Additional Support for Learning Teachers, A family support teacher, Specialist Teacher of PE and instructors of strings and brass. Our support staff include a School Administrator, Clerical Assistant, An EYP and 16 Pupil Support Assistants.
The nursery is an integral part of the whole school establishment with 140 children attending across the day. The team is led by two Senior Early Years Officers who are supported by 6 Early Years Officers, 13 Early Years Practitioners, 3 EYAs and 2 Domestic Assistant.
The role of a Business Manager is to support the Headteacher in all non-curricular aspects of school management, ensuring these aspects operate effectively, Responsibilities include Finance, HR, Information Governance, Resources, Facilities, Information Technology and Health and Safety and the successful candidate should have experience in some or all of these areas.
Experience of leading support services in an educational setting is desirable however clear evidence of being an experienced and effect leader, alongside the ability to personally manage the day to day operations, is essential for this on-site post. The Business Manager will be responsible for maintaining and developing operational efficiency across Early Years and Primary within the school and working in partnership with multiple external agencies and contractors.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
