Salary: £40,501 - £47,639 (pro-rata for part time and sessional)

Posts are available in Special Schools across Edinburgh. All posts are based on-site in one school for18hrs. Locations will be confirmed with candidates who are invited to interview, candidates will have the opportunity to indicate which posts they wish to be considered for.

The role of a Business Manager is to support the Headteacher in all non-curricular aspects of school management, ensuring these aspects operate effectively, Responsibilities include Finance, HR, Information Governance, Resources, Facilities, Information Technology and Health and Safety and the successful candidate should have experience in some or all of these areas.

Experience of leading support services in an educational setting is desirable however clear evidence of being an experienced and effect leader, alongside the ability to personally manage the day to day operations, is essential for this on-site post. The Business Manager will be responsible for maintaining and developing operational efficiency within the school and working in partnership with multiple external agencies and contractors.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
