Cleansing Operative (Driver/Crew Leader) - Street Care

Salary: £24,064 - £26,468
Hours: 36 per week

Additional working time payments applicable £2889 (4 days on 4 days off)

You will undertake a range of services and activities, including: street and open space cleaning, litter collection, environmental inspection, and enforcement. You will drive vehicles appropriate to the licence type held and be responsible for the vehicle and undertake appropriate checks and paper work. You will supervise cleansing operatives and act as a first point of contact with the local community providing advice ensuring the highest possible standards of customer care are maintained.

Full UK Driving C1 Licence is essential.

The post holder

• shall be required to demonstrate an ability to work with hand held technology
• shall demonstrate sound knowledge of equipment and machinery used within cleansing services
• will have experience of deploying cleansing staff on a day day to basis, task allocation and operational supervision
• Will be able to work with the minimum of supervision and prioritise own workloads ensuring relevant standards and timescales are met
• Will ensure the effective cleaning of streets and open spaces ensuring that safe working practices are adhered to
• Will ensure that resources allocated are maintained and used appropriately
• Will be able to communicate with members of the public to advice on service related issues and provide feed-back to management

This post requires a minimum C1 Driving Licence to drive vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes or a commitment to obtain that licence within 6 months of employment.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
