At Sciennes we are committed to ensuring every child receives their right to an education. Our skilled staff team, engaged families and motivated learners work together to ensure that we live by our school motto of Believe, Achieve.

Our school first opened its doors in 1892. Now in 2024, we provide high quality learning experiences for over 650 children in our Victorian building, newly built annexe designed with Passivhaus technology, and in St Leonard's, our associated Nursery, based in the Pleasance.

We believe that 'none of us are as smart as all of us' and that everyone in the school plays a crucial role in making our school a safe and loving place to be.

We are looking for a Clerical Assistant who will work to ensure our school office is an organised, supportive and welcoming place. You will work alongside the school Administrator, Business Manager and Head Teacher. You will be friendly, you will be able to prioritise tasks and you will thrive on bring part of a big and busy school.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
