Creche Worker

Salary: £14.78 - £14.78 per hour

We are looking for enthusiastic, caring and reliable Crèche Workers to join our Tertiary pool within the Community Learning and Development team.

This rewarding role involves providing high-quality childcare in a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment for children attending community crèche sessions while their parents take part in ESOL class (English for Speakers of Other Languages).

The creche worker will support children's wellbeing, learning and development through creative play and positive interaction while working closely with parents, carers and colleagues. We welcome applications from individuals from all backgrounds and are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion.

All candidates will need to be able to join the PVG scheme as an essential requirement.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Are flexible, organised and able to use their initiative

We deliver our classes across Edinburgh aiming to reach out to deprived areas. Though our timetable changes we currently require staff at:

  • Tynecastle Community Wing, Tynecastle High School (Tuesday lunchtimes, Thursday mornings)

  • West Pilton Neighbourhood Centre (Tuesday mornings, Thursday mornings)

  • Leith Community Centre (Monday mornings, Thursday mornings)

  • Goodtrees Neighbourhood Centre (Monday mornings)

  • South Queensferry Community Centre (Tuesday mornings)

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
