Depute Head Teacher
Gylemuir Primary School

Salary: £66,606 - £66,606
Hours: 35 per week

At Gylemuir we are committed to ensuring every child grows up loved, safe and respected. We want every child to receive an education which develops their personality, talents and mind so they can reach their fullest potential. Our skilled staff team, engaged families and motivated learners work together to ensure that we live by our school values of Welcoming, Supportive, Creative and Happy.

We provide high quality learning experiences for over 380 Primary children and over 70 Nursery children. Our children's success is a key priority for us. We have good attainment in Literacy and Numeracy and our approach to planning is based on stage collaboration which is then tailored to meet the needs of individual learners. We have a strong team who provide bespoke interventions to children and families to make sure they receive the right support, at the right time.

We are looking to recruit a committed, highly motivated, and enthusiastic Depute Head Teacher. The successful candidate will be an outstanding practitioner with great communication skills, have high expectations of staff and pupils and be a team player. They should have experience of leading a team, an understanding of the early years and play pedagogy and be committed to engaging with our wider school community.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.

We're committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits that a diverse workforce with different values, beliefs, experience, and backgrounds brings to us as an organisation.

As part of our goal to improve our organisational culture and create a great place to work together for the people of Edinburgh, we want to make sure that we're bringing the best people into our roles, not just in their skills and experience but also in their approach to work.
